About the Book

For twenty-five years, Nancy Alexander battled a mysterious illness without a diagnosis. Despite spells of total debilitation and hospitalizations with no answers, she managed to fight through and raise two sons and create a successful business. Like many marriages where chronic illness is at the forefront, Nancy’s suffered.

This is her story of fighting the medical system to receive a diagnosis and to not only save her marriage to Steve but restore it to a place of joy. Years of rumors from doctors and friends, the ravages on her body from disease, and the rescue in the form of a doctor and nutritionist all culminated into a place of wellness that Nancy now shares with her readers.

Though she didn’t always know it during her journey, God’s hand guided and protected her and Steve. Nancy’s story will uplift and encourage those with chronic illness that answers are worth fighting for, and God’s strength is sufficient on even the worse days.

Here's what Nancy's readers are saying...

Sue Mellette says...

Nancy, I just finished reading from cover to cover your absolutely amazing story. I felt at times I was feeling your pain, your bewilderment, your desperate need to find help. But your story is much more than fighting Fibromyalgia and learning how to live with it. It is a love story about finding the love that a husband and wife should have for each other. It is a love story that through your finding the Lord and knowing that He does not forsake us even in our darkest hours the Lord has a plan for you and your husband.

Your story is open, brutally honest, and forthright. Yes, it brought me tears at times and joy at others! Thank you for sharing your most inner secrets and your journey. I know others will find your story absolutely breathtaking. It even, in my opinion, is a great story that could be brought to life on the big screen. It was so vivid and descriptive that I could actually see your struggles.

An absolutely powerful story about a disease and your diligence in finding exactly what was wrong with you. You truly are special!

Jim Cockrum says...

I love to surround myself with people who challenge me. Those rare souls who endure and persist and eventually find a way to overcome seemingly impossible odds with determination and focus ignite something unique and special inside us. We all cheer their victories! You simply can't have too many people like that in your life. Prepare to add Nancy to your list of champions.

Nancy's story is likely to destroy your excuses and procrastinations and inspire you to serve, build and grow starting now.

From my perspective this book is not "Nancy and Steve's story of tragedy and triumph". It's far more. To me it's a finely tuned weapon of spiritual warfare that our father has been sharpening ("on the anvil" to borrow a phrase from Lucado) for quite some time now - and it's about to do some serious damage in the spiritual realm.

Nancy, Your book is absolutely wonderful ------ so beautifully and poignantly written. I was able to read it in two days and could not put it down. I must admit, the first day our dinner was late! It was so easy to read and very compelling. You and Steve should be commended for being so open and honest about your private lives. Not everyone would be able to do this.

This book did make me cry and when I was finished with it my first thought was to give you a big hug. I am convinced that your book will help countless people suffering with all sorts of chronic illnesses, especially fibromyalgia. For me, the best part of this book for sure is not the fact that you overcame so many obstacles (although it is a wonderful part) but that you and Steve invited Christ into your lives and make Him the center of your marriage.

I'm so glad I was able to get a sneak peek of your book. As I said earlier, it make me cry, but when I was finished, I had a big smile in my heart! May God bless you and Steve.

Hallie Sue Wells says...

Nancy, I loved this book! I started out thinking it was going to be a book about Fibromyalgia but was so wrong. It is really a great love story, a mystery, a story of survival and most of all God’s grace and strength given to one of his children.

I felt so many emotions while engrossed in every page, from frustration, fear and hopelessness to anger and bitterness over things that should not have been then to relief, love and joy as the aftermath of such a devastating, debilitating disease finally started getting answers and healing.

While reading I wondered how I would have handled or reacted to each situation and the devastating pain of body and mind. I really doubted that I could have survived. I am so glad that you survived and are now making a difference in so many lives.

I'm also glad you have been brave enough to put your life on paper, sharing it with everyone. Your story proves with God, all things really are possible.

Rev. Randy Blank says...

Nancy, in your darkest hours I could see the hand of God keeping you, protecting you, and loving you…especially when you felt so unlovable. The Lord has been in your life from the earliest moments when you knew that something was not right, when you were easily discouraged, and when you wanted to give up.

I praise God for his love and mercy and protection in your life. I am so thankful that your story does not end in despair, darkness, and even the tragedy that could have been. No, the Lord has blessed you, Steve, Matt, Andy, and their families in amazing and wonderful ways.

You are a winner, you are a survivor, you are one of God’s champions, and your victorious life today is a testimony to those who will read your book to never ever give in or give up.

Oh my goodness, I loved your book. I felt like I was reading my life. When I was a child I didn't like anyone to hug me because it hurt and I didn't know why. Being in pain all the time and all the other medical problems IBS, arthritis and etc. I am 61 years old now. My boyfriend of 15 years walked out the door one day in October 2016 and has not be back. I could go on and on but that's not what I'm suppose to be doing now.

The book was fantastic!! Finding out there are so many people who are suffering with fibromyalgia. So sorry you had such a hard time. God was with you all the way. He had his plan for you. You have built a business that helps so many going through the same thing.

Who is Nancy?

While fighting the diseases of fibromyalgia and celiac for almost 40 years, Nancy Alexander, now a master wreath designer and teacher, found hope just when she thought there was none left.

Nancy discovered her God-given talent of creating unique wreaths. She has now sold many thousands of wreaths all over the world. An author of instructional and business books, Nancy’s latest book, Make Your Own Wreaths: For Any Occasion in Any Season was published in July, 2016. Thousands of copies sold very quickly.

But, that wasn’t all. Soon, this woman from Anderson, South Carolina, realized God’s plans for her life were more than she could imagine. The path she walked, along with the illnesses that went undiagnosed for years, led her to ladies just like herself who desperately needed help.

Many lives have been changed through Nancy’s sincere desire to help these ladies develop their own God-given gifts. She enjoys encouraging and teaching members of her private community, Nancy’s Inner Circle:

Finding joy and hope restored in their lives again, these ladies love learning from Nancy. Utilizing Nancy’s many how-to books and videos, her students can create beautiful designs — giving them a reason to want to get out of bed each morning.Nancy is grateful for the saving power of God as He leads her to help others fulfill their own dreams just as she has.
